Today I:

• Slept in until 5:30am
• Baked croissants
• Navigated the MN Unemployment website like a freaking ninja
• Threw a bunch of pictures up on my blog and called it “content”
• Went to the library and picked up the book waiting on hold for me (SALT by Mark Kurlansky, for those interested)
• Went to the liquor store and bought local, organic vodka and commercially produced tonic
• Ignored the cat
• Thought about doing yoga and decided against it
• Started a load of laundry

…I am so damn glad I don’t work for the government anymore.

I would honestly shank someone in exchange for a gigantic, toasted, New York bagel slick with melted butter.

I had a weird mix of nostalgia and Adulthood on the bus ride this morning when Fiona Apple came on my iPod and I was overcome with fondness and started playing through all of her albums and then realized how very, very disturbed and angry and damaged she is (was?) in a way that I understood intuitively when I was sixteen, but not consciously. And then I got really worried about her. Like, is Fiona Apple OK now? What is she doing? Has she stopped dating assholes? Has she found inner peace?
